Living Plant Collection

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Botany Greenhouse is closed to the public, students, and most researchers until further notice. The Botany Garden remains open, however, we ask you to please be respective of our gardeners who are considered essential staff and practice social distancing.

We are currently in the process of re-curating our plant collection. If there is a certain taxa you are interested in using for class or research, please contact the Director, Ingrid Jordon-Thaden.

Visit us again soon when our new curated database is online!

Our living collections represent thorough examples of:

  • Plant Geography
  • Plant Systematics
  • Aquatic Plants
  • Carnivorous Plants
  • Economic Plants: dyes, medicinals, edibles, fibers, and spices
  • Agents of Evolution: pollination syndromes of bats, bees, beetles, birds, butterflies, and moths.
