We are happy to announce that we are now open to the public, as well as students and teachers!

Botany Garden hours: sunrise to sundown

Botany Greenhouse fall term hours: M-F, 8am to 4pm

(Please enter the greenhouse through the front doors of Birge Hall & enter the Botany Garden on the far west side from the Chamberlain Hall sidewalk).

We are currently in the process of re-curating our plant collection. If there is a certain taxa you are interested in using for class or research, please contact the Director, Ingrid Jordon-Thaden.

Our living collections represent thorough examples of:

  • Plant Geography
  • Plant Systematics
  • Aquatic Plants
  • Carnivorous Plants
  • Economic Plants: dyes, medicinals, edibles, fibers, and spices
  • Agents of Evolution: pollination syndromes of bats, bees, beetles, birds, butterflies, and moths.
